St. David’s Day at UWTSD #MyStory 0

St. David’s Day is such a big part of welsh culture. As a South African studying here in Wales I always love to get involved and really admire the pride that the Welsh people take in their traditions. It’s definitely a special day, and I always feel honoured to be allowed to take part and learn a little bit more about Welsh history and culture. I love how campus really makes a beautiful effort to celebrate the day, with vases filled with daffodils placed all around campus.

A few days before the first of March the International Office hosted a St.David’s Day celebration, and shared the holiday with students from around the world. It was a really special evening, with leek stuffed chicken and speeches about the relevance of the day to Wales. I know the international students were as excited to be a part of the day as I always am, since they worked together to make some incredible decorations.
