Lampeter Location & Connections 0

I hope this blog helps people to understand that Lampeter is very accessible via road and rail. Come along and have a look at the campus for yourself. I also hope that existing students can now be aware of these transportation links too.

Many people think that the Lampeter campus is in the middle of nowhere but it’s actually more connected that you would think. The Lampeter Campus located at the heart of the historic market town of Lampeter, itself surrounded by the beautiful Cambrian mountains of rural Wales. It is a very unique campus and I personally like to think of it as my unique place in the middle of the beautiful countryside. It’s a place where everyone knows your name and you are counted as an individual.

The University is situated in the centre of Lampeter on the A485. If you are coming by road from the south, the M4 will bring you as far as Pont Abraham services, then take the A48 towards Carmarthen (about another 15 minutes). At the end of the A48, follow the signs to Llandeilo at the first two roundabouts and at the third roundabout follow the A485 to Lampeter (about another 35 minutes). If you are coming by road form the north, or midlands, head for Aberystwyth and then take the A487 to Aberaeron and the A482 to Lampeter.

Rail services come as far as Aberystwyth to the north, and Carmarthen to the south. The train line is a great website to use to get prices for train fares to and from Carmarthen or Aberystwyth. From the rail stations there is a bus service (T1) that connects to Lampeter and stops right at the Lampeter Campus. Below is a link to the new and improved bus timetable for the new bus that connects Lampeter to Carmarthen and Aberystwyth.

There is now also a link from London Victoria Coach Station to Lampeter via the Megabus that stops in Cardiff, Swansea and Carmarthen along the way. The price of the Megabus is more than reasonable so this is a great link. Here is a link to the megabus website for more details.
